Super Duper Picture Post!

So we've been collecting lots of cute pictures while watching our daughter grow and learn over the last month... Kaylee is so much fun and we are so blessed to be her parents and to watch her learn and grow. We can't believe how quickly it happens.

Kaylee has taken a big interest in all her books recently. Most of the time she even turns them the correct way by herself. She likes to get all the books of a series and bring them to the big chair and climb up and look at them. Sometimes when we're in there, she'll bring them to our lap and climb up and want to look at them.

Sitting in the big chair, looking at a book.

And it is true that kids will play with anything... Kaylee likes to drag these canisters around with her. They're empty, but still. :)

Playing with food tins.

Here she is hiding behind the la-z-boy chair and looking at a book...

Peek a Boo!

I have a few photo series that I'd like to review here. Sometimes an activity is cute enough that it requires a LOT of pictures. I like to call this gallery, "Daddy tries to put a shirt on Kaylee."

"Come here so I can put this shirt on you."

"OK, we got your head in..."

"Got one arm in..."

"Let's try the other arm..."

"And again..."

"And again..."

"Ok... wait. It's *still* not on."

"Let's try AGAIN."

"Come here and let me wrestle that last arm in!"

Finally, mission accomplished. The shirt is ON.

One final adjustment. :)

Later that evening, Kaylee showed us a new way to watch TV. She likes to lay on the floor right in front of it. :) With all her friends, of course.

Another favorite activity is the climbing up and viewing the situation outside of the window. She was smart enough to figure out she only needed to be a *little bit* taller to see what was outside.

Looking around outside...

And here is our princess, sitting in her fuzzy pink Princess chair...

"Hi, Momma..."

And just a couple to show how long her hair is getting!!!

Bangs in the eyes....

Big curly mess in the back...

In fact, I bought some barrettes and baby hair elastics this past week, as her bangs are in her face and her hair is starting to go down her back!

New barrettes and baby pony tail elastic. How cute is that?

Most of all, however, Kaylee absolutely *LOVES* to be outside. Everything outside is a new discovery to her. She loves to run around and pick up sticks, touch the grass, leaves, and trees, and just look at EVERYTHING. It's so neat to see her exploring her surroundings and to remember that for her, all of these experiences she's having are new experiences. I have to remember how much Ian and I were so amazed when we went snorkeling for the first time last year, and remember that Kaylee gets to experience that every day with something.

So this next series is called, "Exploring in the yard!"

Just a little snow bank left...

And a little snow under the pine trees....

The grass is still brown...

Hey! A stick! Cool!

Ooh. A bigger stick! One that's bigger than me!

Hanging out with Daddy... the best playmate EVER.

Just walking around with my stick...

Daddy, I like it up here, but I really want to
be DOWN so I can run and play!

Playing with some branches from our burn pile...

More branches...

Kaylee playing behind the brush pile, Ian standing beside the fire pit...

Hmm. Got some dirt on my hands...

Just looking around...

Playing with some pine needles...

Now if we can't be outside, sometimes it's ok to just LOOK outside. Here she is, proud of herself for figuring out that she can get tall enough to see out the window. She seems so impressed when she does this, almost every single day. So cute...

Hi Mommy! I'm looking outside!

Watching TV with all her little furry buddies...

Big Bird, Eeyore, Ernie, Tigger, and Pooh. Oh, and Kaylee.

Easter Sunday. It was hard to get her to stand still for a photo in her cute little dress. It will fit her through the summer though, so we'll get more pictures.

Playing with Nana's scarves...

Really liking the fluffy pink scarf and the fuzzy purple hat.

After lunch and a nap, we got changed and went outside. We enjoyed gorgeous sunny warm weather on the patio at Mom and Dad's in New Denmark. Kaylee again loved exploring. She has grown so fast that this 18 month outfit is too short in the sleeves and legs. She was 33 inches tall at her 4/9/2010 checkup.

This next series is "Playing outside at Nana's!"

Hey, there's sticks at Nana's, too!

Nana also likes to take pictures of Kaylee. Nana also
happens to live right by a grave yard, so there are lots
of interesting things to see there.

Walking around with my stick...

Gotta walk back up the little hill...
Still learning how to walk uphill.

Apparently Kaylee takes after her mother, and *loves* chocolate.

Chocolate all over my hands, my face... my chair tray...

In my hair... on my shirt...

Mmmmm. It's so yummy...

And just like her father, she loves Goldfish crackers. But mostly to make a mess on the living room floor with them. She eats them, too...

Watching TV with some Goldfish and a cup of juice...

More chocolate... this time it's chocolate pancakes with chocolate chips in them. Yummy!

Mmm. I love chocolate pancakes... and milk!

I'm all done! I ate every bite!

Really, I'm ready to get down NOW! Come let me out!

Just hanging out with Daddy in the chair.

Watching TV with her feet up, snuggled against Daddy!

Kaylee also loves to play with the flashlight, and she claps and squeals as it bounces its beam around on the ceiling.

Looking at the light on ceiling.

Kaylee on her rocking horse...

Kaylee and her horsie.

Kaylee knows what a phone is for now. She has her own play cell phone, which she will bring to us while we are watching TV and we pretend we're talking to someone on it... Here she is on her phone...

Oh, there's a call for me!

Yes, my mama and daddy are here...

What was that you were saying?

And she loves to play in her bedroom. We've been changing a few things around this week to get some more of her toys in there and out of the living room. She loves to play with her mittens, and has them all around her neck in these pictures...

Peeking around from behind the crib. What a cute smile!

Coming out to play, see all my mittens?

Another day we played outside this past week.... You can see the grass has really gotten more green in two weeks.

Just enjoying a gorgeous day outside...

I call this "The Prisoner - Limestone" series. Should have had a video, it was pretty windy and the ball really looked like it had a mind of its own.

The rest are just an assortment of some of the cute shots I got that day. You can see her confidence in walking around has really improved.. in fact, she can run faster than we can keep up with her now. It's pretty funny how excited she gets running away from us...

Using the pine branch to sweep off the chair...

Got my big stick again...

Walking around in the trees...

Enjoying the warmth of the sun on her face...

Kaylee the Ninja

More warm sun... listening to the birds...

Having a great time out here!

Just being cute. As always.

And a couple little movies to leave you with...

Kaylee playing in her closet... She likes how
there is a different sound on each surface...

Daddy throwing Kaylee up into the air.
She LOVES it. :)

Until next time! Hope you enjoyed all the pictures! She's our growing girl!

  1. Movies are apparently an issue on Blogger. Please bear with me. I'm going to sort the movies or I'm going to switch to a different blog hosting service. - GVJ
